About us
BASIC Trust International was founded over twenty years ago with a sole objective to bring desperately needed relief to as many children and youth trapped in heinous circumstances as possible.
We became proactive about the considerable injustices and resulting misery that they endure during a visit to West Africa in the late eighties. We witnessed extreme poverty, disease and the soul rending despair of lacking opportunities.
Over the last two decades we have:
- Built or supported orphanages that accommodate displaced, orphaned or infirm children
- Awarded medical grants that provide funding for life saving surgery, medication, long-term recuperation costs and artificial limbs
- Awarded academic scholarships to scores of youth across east, west and Central Africa, South America and Asia
- Been involved in representative arbitration with executive arms of governments in the hope that public policy will be implemented for the greater social benefit.
BASIC Trust International is a UK registered Charity with affiliate NGO’s and Trusts in Africa, Asia and North America.
